Required for the site to function: session continuity, security (CSRF), locale preference, consent storage, shop checkout/session, and license/account access. These are always allowed and do not require opt-in under most privacy frameworks. Stripe Checkout payment itself is a necessary contractual step — not a marketing cookie.

Analytics cookies
Optional. If enabled after consent (required in EU/EEA/UK/CH), they help us understand aggregate use via our first-party analytics endpoint (/api/analytics/event). Optional GA4/GTM runs only with analytics consent.
Examples: imh_consent=analytics; first-party event pings — only after analytics consent.
Marketing cookies
Optional. Used only with marketing consent for advertising measurement, campaign opt-ins, and — when AdSense is enabled on this site — loading Google ads (adsbygoogle). Not required for browsing, checkout, or submitting a licensing inquiry. In EU/EEA/UK/CH, ads scripts do not load until you opt in to marketing.
Examples: marketing consent flag; newsletter opt-in APIs; AdSense client/slot units after marketing consent.
Retention
Consent preferences are stored for up to 12 months (or until you reset them). Session cookies expire when you close the browser; analytics/marketing durations follow the provider defaults if enabled.

We may update this cookie policy when our tooling or legal requirements change. The “last updated” date on the page reflects the current version.
